How to Get Assistance

Abortion appointment required for assistance

If you are living in New York, or will be traveling to New York for an abortion, call the New York Abortion Access Fund (NYAAF) and leave a detailed message. The message should include:

Your name
A phone number you can be reached at
The best time for the fund to call you back
Whether it is safe to say that NYAAF is calling if they miss you and need to leave a message

If you do not indicate that it is safe to say NYAAF is calling, they will leave the following message: “Hi, I’m returning the message you left on our voicemail, please call me back at 212-252-4757 and tell me when it’s a good time to try you again.”

If you get this message, please call the intake line again and let them know when to call you back. The fund returns all messages within 24 hours.

If you need help with lodging for your appointment NYAAF can help you connect with Haven, a group that helps with lodging.

If you are a New York resident, NYAAF may also be able to help you pay for your abortion through medicaid enrollment. Ask about this option when you speak with someone from the fund.

NOTE: NYAAF will work with you regardless of your citizenship status, and they work with minors. Your privacy will be protected.
